Introduction:
The Can-Am League or the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball is established in the town of Durham in North Carolina. It is an autonomous and professional baseball league situated in the Northeastern part of the United States and the Quebec province of Canada. This league mainly functions in those urban areas which are not attended by either the minor league baseball or the major league baseball. The professional baseball is not associated with either of them. Despite the fact that the level of games mostly played by the Canadian League are largely classified as “A” level, Major League teams usually don’t scout players from autonomous baseball organizations. In addition, the Canadian American Association of professional Baseball also happens to take those players devoid of talent to play at major level baseball games. Some people confuse the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball with its predecessor which was the Canadian American League established in the 20th century. History of the League:
The Canadian – American Baseball Association is an autonomous league which has affiliations with the two other autonomous leagues, namely the Northern League and the Northeast League which was found in the year 1995. The leagues merged into a single entity in the year 1998. Subsequent to the 2002 season, the Northeast League again segregated itself to form a separate league. In the year 2006, a couple of teams were added in the league of the Canadian American baseball league. It also witnessed the folding of the operations of Elmira Pioneers which were replaced by the Sussex Skyhawks. Previous to the 2006 season, the team named “Nashua Pride” shifted its allegiance from the Atlantic League to the Canadian American Professional Baseball League.
Miscellaneous:
The year 2006 witnessed a change in the format of the baseball playoff. Previous to the 2006 season, the league got partitioned into two divisions, namely, the south and the north. Thanks to the new format, the divisions were altercated. Eight teams would have to compete against each other for the spots in the 4 playoffs. There are possibilities of as much as 3 teams qualifying for the baseball league.
